I never thought I would like digital scrapbooking because I just love playing with “stuff” but after using LifeTimez, our digital software, I quickly fell in love with digital! I now consider myself a “hybrid” scrapper- the term for those who do both paper and digi-scrapping as well as mixing the two. I can still play with all the fun products- I just do it on my computer in addition to on paper. As our industry develops, more and more scrappers are learning to mix digital into their paper crafting and vice versa- there are unlimited possibilities!
Here are my favorite reasons for doing digital scrapbooking:

Easy gift albums- weddings, baby albums, family reunions, vacations, school yearbooks- I can create just one album then print or burn it to CD in as many copies as I need. One for each set of in-laws, each set of grandparents, each family member, each school parent- you get the idea!

Re-useable- I can re-use any embellishment or paper as many times as I like instead of purchasing multiple sets of letters, paper, etc

Saves time- part of the challenge of paper scrapping is pulling out all of your “stuff” and having time to spread it all out. With digi-scrapping, I just turn on my computer, even on an airplane, waiting for kids at soccer practice, during nap time (my favorite!), and it is all there and ready to use.

More freedom to experiment- if I make a mistake or want to change something, I just hit “undo” or “delete” and start again in a new direction

Saves money- In addition to saving on supply costs, I save a lot on photo printing. I love to scrap larger photos in 8x12 or 8x8 sizes but these cost between $6-7 each to print. With LifeTimez, I can print my entire page including my larger pictures for $2 or less. And no more printing all 100 pictures of the same event “just in case” I want to scrap it. With digital, I just select the ones that I want to use as I create my layouts.

I can still scraplift! I love to gather ideas from magazines, websites, other scrappers and with digital, I can adapt all of these ideas to digital layouts.

Journaling- with digital, I can journal as I create the page and I do not print it until I journal. So, no more piles of great layouts waiting for words to be added J And, since I often digi-scrap soon after the event my memories are fresher so I truly capture the feelings of the moment.

Shopping- yes, I know digital will save on costs but I can still shop for digital kits to add to my LifeTimez collection. And no waiting for items to be shipped- they can be downloaded instantly and used within minutes. You know part of the fun of scrapping is the shopping!
